For centuries, whispers have circulated about a secret organization known only as The Midnight Archive.

A hidden society dedicated to collecting the world's most dangerous secrets.

Tonight, for the first time in over two hundred years, the Archive has opened its doors to a select group of guests: Politicians. Scholars. Spies. Revolutionaries. Collectors.

Each invited for their own reasons; Each hiding secrets of their own.

And each hoping to gain access to the legendary Ledger of Truths: a document said to contain enough information to destroy fortunes, expose conspiracies, and topple powerful families.

But before negotiations can begin, tragedy strikes, the Curator of the Archive is found dead.

The Ledger has vanished!

The building is placed under lockdown and nobody may leave.

Everyone is a suspect...

  • No acting experience required.
  • Costumes and masks are encouraged but completely optional.
  • Suitable for both first-time and experienced murder mystery players.
  • Character packs will be distributed before the event.
  • Light roleplay and player interaction are a core part of the experience.

Below are the guests expected to attend this historic gathering. Each possesses a unique background, personality, and reason for seeking access to the Ledger of Truths.

Read through the invitations and select the character whose story you wish to uncover.

The Archivists

Dr. Eleanor Voss

Role: Senior Historian

Personality: Calm, analytical, patient.

Backstory:
Has spent twenty years preserving Archive records. She believes some truths are too dangerous for the public.

Costume Suggestion:
Victorian academic, spectacles, dark dress or suit.


Professor Adrian Blackwell

Role: Cryptographer

Personality: Brilliant, absent-minded, obsessive.

Backstory:
Specialized in decoding ancient documents. Recently discovered something in the Ledger that terrified him.

Costume:
Scholar, waistcoat, notebook.


Sister Miriam Ashcroft

Role: Religious Archivist

Personality: Compassionate, mysterious, quietly intimidating.

Backstory:
Former nun who abandoned her order after discovering forbidden records.

Costume:
Dark religious-inspired robes.
